You can delete your Tokify account whenever you want, and you do not have to tell us why. Deletion removes your account and the data associated with it, other than the records we are required to keep.
Deleting your account also ends your agreement with us under the Terms of Use.
Before you delete
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted you lose access to your profile, your call history, your purchase history, and any remaining Talk Time on the account. There is no way for us to restore a deleted account, and creating a new one will not bring any of it back.
If what you actually want is something narrower, you may not need to delete the account at all:
- Stop someone contacting youBlock them in the app. See the Community Guidelines for how, and report them if their behaviour broke a rule.
- Stop promotional messagesEmail support@tokifyapp.com and ask us to stop promotional or marketing messages, leaving your account intact.
- Correct your detailsMost profile information can be edited in the app. If you need to update profile information that cannot be edited in the app, contact us at support@tokifyapp.com and we will assist you.
- Get a copy of your dataAsk us at support@tokifyapp.com before you delete your account if you want a copy of your personal data. After deletion, some information may no longer be available to provide.
Delete in the app
This is the quickest route if you can still sign in.
- Open the Tokify app and sign in to your account.
- Go to your Profile.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted. Review the confirmation screen carefully before confirming, as account deletion is permanent.
Delete by email
Use this if you cannot reach the app or cannot sign in.
Send an email to support@tokifyapp.com with the subject line "Delete Account".
So that we can verify the request is genuinely yours, include:
- The email address or phone number registered to your Tokify account.
- Your username, if you have one.
We may ask for further information to confirm your identity — we will not delete an account on an unverified request, because that would let someone else delete yours. Once verified, we process the request and confirm the deletion by email.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the personal data held against it, including:
- Your profile: name, email address, phone number, birth year, gender, profile photo and other account details.
- Your login and authentication information, and the association between your username and any files or content held in the account.
- Content you uploaded to the Platform.
- Your usage and interaction data on the Platform.
Your access ends immediately. After deletion you are not permitted to use the Platform through that account, and you will not be able to sign back in.
What has to be kept
A limited amount of information may remain after deletion where we are required to retain it by law, or where retention is necessary to meet a legal or regulatory obligation, prevent fraud, resolve a dispute, or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. It is retained only for the relevant purpose and for as long as necessary.
- Payment and transaction records
- Retained for the period required under applicable financial, accounting and tax law.
- Safety and enforcement records
- Where an account was reported, reviewed, or removed for a breach, the record of the case is kept so that the decision can be explained and an appeal can be handled.
- Records under a legal obligation
- Anything we are required to retain by law, by a court, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, and anything needed to prevent fraud or resolve an open dispute.
- Backups
- Data deleted from the live service may persist in routine backups for a limited period before those backups cycle out. It is not restored to the service or used for any other purpose.
- Aggregated data
- Statistics that no longer identify you may be kept, because they cannot be linked back to you.
Our Privacy Policy sets out retention in full.
Remaining Talk Time
Unused talk time is forfeited on deletion. Any remaining wallet balance or talk time is lost when the account is deleted, and deleting an account is not a way to obtain a refund of it.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund of a specific transaction, request it before you delete your account, and read the Refund Policy first — it sets out which cases are eligible. Once the account has been deleted, we may not be able to verify a purchase against your account records.
Where Tokify terminates an account for a breach of the Terms of Use or Community Guidelines, any refund of amounts paid or remaining Talk Time is at Tokify's discretion and will be considered based on the facts of the case, subject to applicable law.
If you get stuck
If you cannot find the option in the app, cannot sign in, have not had a reply to a deletion email, or have any question about what happens to your data, write to support@tokifyapp.com and tell us what you have already tried. A person will pick it up.
If you are unhappy with how a deletion or data request was handled, you can raise it with our Grievance Officer at the same address, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
